India’s Jugaad Innovation Must Soar New Heights: Ravi Shankar Prasad

It is no news that our Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad wants India to be high on innovation. The man dreams of a technologically empowered India and have had always been very vocal about his 'Digital India' dream. Today, when he was asked to address a group of people at Intel's Innovate For Digital India event held in Delhi, he begun his speech by saying, "I am very happy today" and then went on to describe how Indian's jugaad innovation never ceases to impress him.
He had actually come at the innovation event for honoring the top 10 teams of the Intel & DST Innovate for Digital India Challenge. After felicitating these people and congratulating Intel and the innovators for taking India a step closer to Digital India goal, he announced his plans of building a separate portal for innovators in India.
He said, "The ecosystem of India is bubbly with energy and to tap this talent, the basic innovators' spirit of Indians need to be properly utilized. To facilitate this, the department of IT will soon come up with a separate portal created dedicated for innovators in India."
Anyone who thinks he has a revolutionary idea can post his ideas on the portal. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology will follow these people, reach out to them and if their ideas are any worthy, then ministry will offer them support.
Ravi also assured that he will personally look into ideas that will come through this upcoming portal.
