The 'Information from your devices' setting saves a copy of some information from your phone or tablet.

Information that's saved

Information saved may include things like your:
  • Contacts
  • Calendars
  • Apps
  • Music
  • Information about the device itself, like battery level
This information is private, and you can only see it when you're signed in to your Google Account.

How saving this information helps you

Turning on this setting helps you get the most accurate results and suggestions.

Turn 'Information from your devices' on or off

  1. Visit the Activity controls page. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account.
  2. Turn the switch on (blue) or off (gray).
When this setting is on, information may be saved from any device that uses your Google Account.

See & delete your device information

Visit the device information activity page to see what's saved. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account.

One at a time

  1. Visit the device information activity page. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account.
  2. Check the box next to the items you want to delete. You can delete an entire day of items by checking the box next to a date.
  3. At the top of the page, touch Delete.

All information

  1. Visit the device information activity page. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account.
  2. In the top right corner, touch MenuMore > Delete > Advanced.
  3. Touch All time, then Delete > Delete.

What's saved in your device information activity

  • Content stored on your device: This may include things like contact lists, calendars, alarms, apps, and music. Content stored on your device can help Google give you things like more accurate results and suggestions. For example, when you ask Google to call a contact, Google can use information from your contacts to give you the best results.
  • Device status information: This may include things like whether the screen is on, the battery level, the quality of your Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection, touchscreen and sensor readings, and crash reports. This information can help Google do things like rank your most-used apps higher in your search results and improve the accuracy of your location information.
