Easy Banana Puffs Recipe
If you are looking for a quick and easy treat, then these banana puffs are ideal for you!
With a crunchy outside and soft banana filling, they are not only fun to eat, but also fun to make with the kids. Yes, a little sticky and messy, but that’s what cooking with kids is all about don’t you think?
You may remember that a couple of months ago I posted a recipe for some super easycheese puffs. At that time, I promised another easy banana recipe. It may have taken a while, but here it is!
Now you know that when I say something is super easy, I really do mean it! I am all for recipes that take hardly any time to prepare, something that the kids can help out with, and are also yummy!
These banana puffs fit the bill perfectly.
I made them with banana and nutmeg, but you could use cinnamon if you preferred (I had run out of it, so nutmeg was my second choice, but still a good one!!).
All you need is two sheets of puff pastry, 1-2 bananas (depending on the size), 1 egg, a splash of milk, cinnamon or nutmeg and some brown or raw sugar.
Simply lay a sheet of puff pastry out and cover with the milk and egg (which you have previously combined). Slice the bananas and layer them ontop of the puff pastry sheet.
Lay your second sheet of puff pastry on top of the bananas and then cover again with the milk/egg mixture.
Sprinkle with some brown or raw sugar basically for fun and some extra sweetness.
Bake at 180 degrees for 12-15 minutes (or until golden brown). That’s it! Once out the oven you can enjoy immediately.
My 2 year old made these ones, which just goes to show that they are incredibly easy to do!
